Were Aamir and Kiran offered Rs 2 crore for an ad?

If the latest buzz in the industry is to be believed, Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao have been offered a whopping Rs 2 crore for an hour-long shoot of a commercial for a household product

It appears that Aamir Khan has had a change of heart. After hosting television talk show Satyamev Jayate, the star decided to steer clear of endorsements. In his new role as social crusader, Mr Perfectionist wanted to take up only those ad offers that were socially relevant.

But going by the latest buzz, Aamir might just agree to endorse a household product. What's more, the brand wants his director-wife Kiran Rao to feature alongside him. The couple will apparently be paid a whopping Rs 2 crore for an hour of shoot!

Says a source, "Aamir is considered to be the highest paid star for his endorsements. Normally, ad shoots take two to three days.

But Aamir is being paid Rs 2 crore for an hourlong shoot. The makers feel having Kiran with him on screen will add novelty."

If the deal comes through, Aamir joins other Bollywood couples like Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Saif Ali and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who have been seen together in ads.

Aamir's spokesperson maintains that after his stint with Satyamev Jayate, he was roped in as the brand ambassador of a leading business house.

The smitten singer, 28, says that being engaged has made "everything better".

She gushed: "It makes everything better. When you're in love and have love it makes everything better."

Fans wanting to catch a glimpse of Gaga's engagement ring at Sunday night's Oscars were left disappointed as she teamed her custom-made Azzedine Alaïa gown with red gloves, but insisted it wasn't a deliberate move to hide the jewellery.

Enrique accused of plagiarism

Singer Enrique Iglesias is accused of theft over his 2014 hit song "Bailando". The song is said to be plagiarised from the song "Quiero Bailar Contigo".

Cristian Escuti and German Schulz claimed they recorded a track in 2009 under the name of "Quiero Bailar Contigo", reports TMZ.

The songwriters didn't register a copyright of the song. They then sent "Quiero Bailar Contigo" to a Sony executive in 2012. However, they reportedly didn't hear anything back from the studio, following which came Enrique Iglesias' 2014 song "Bailando".

His song, which features Descemer Bueno and Cuban duo Gente D' Zona, is allegedly a rip-off from the original 2009 song recorded by Escuti and Schulz.

The songwriters reportedly revealed Sony partially owns "Quiero Bailar Contigo". Escuti and Schulz were specifically concerned with the chorus line, melody, lyrics and rhythm of "Bailando", which have been allegedly taken off from "Quiero Bailar Contigo".

William Trueba of a Miami law firm represents Escuti and Schulz.

"The chorus line in our clients' song is very similar to the chorus in 'Bailando'. The music and lyrics are similar," Trueba told billboard.com.

TMZ claimed they have asked him for a copy of the 2009 song, but Trueba reportedly declined under the request of his clients.

Iglesias' "Bailando" is now under investigation for the alleged copyright infringement. Escuti and Schulz are reportedly seeking damages and profits gained from "Bailando".

Iglesias' song has so far earned 686 million views on video-sharing website YouTube and is believed to be his popular song of his album "Sex and Love". The song has been at the number one spot on Billboard's Hot Latin songs chart for 39 weeks now.
